played in a pool tourney last night and i was forced to take a jumpshot with a bridge. when i jumped the cue ball and went to pick the bridge up i accidently tapped a ball that went maybe one inch. the referee called a foul, we argued bout it because the tounament was a cueball only foul. did this referee know something i dont ???? i know this really aint a question but it is something interesting how referees canmake their own rules ! but after it happened he picked up the cue ball off the table before it was discussed and then said that it could not be placed back in the original spot and gave the guy i was playing the cue ball and he took ball in hand and ran out .

  1. Straight is right as you were its a Table foul and not ball in hand CK The refs Card if he claims to be BCA cert. but go with Straight Shooter thats just my 2 points worth

  2. I understand your frustration.  Can I ask if this was a certified referee?  As a referee for the BCA Pool Leagues myself, I take pride in having a firm grasp of the rules and their explicit and implicit meanings.  If everything happened as you stated it, then you are correct.  The referee should've returned the bumped ball to its original position.  You could appeal the referee's decision to the tournament director.  They usually have the final authority on such matters.  M.D.-BCA Instructor/Referee.

  3. I understand ur frusto becuz it cud happ bu i don
