  1. You don't make fuel from the plant material, you make it from the sugars and oils the plant contains.  Corn, peas, fruit, sugar  beets, sugar cane and some vegetable oil producing plants are useful for producing fuels.  Grasses and weeds do not make enough sugar or oil to be fermented or distilled into fuel.

  2. the fuel is obtained from the product of photosyntesis of the plant, but not directly form the plant itself. weeds and grass have very small mass compared to corn etc, so the yeild of fuel is very much less, and is it were to be commerciallised this fuel, then the space needed to grow these grass would be so huge just to get an equal amount of fuel of a small area of corn. so the value of net gained is a negative value =D

  3. oh yeaahh. thats a good idea.

  4. There is a recent inventor that make a woodfuel to run ICE

  5. Good idea!  It is already being done:  Ã¢Â€ÂœBio-diesel from non-edible oilseeds like pongamia, honge, jatropha and castor, can meet the demand for diesel..."1  The trick is to use plants that do not require the same land that you would use to grow edible crops. A great deal is being made of jatropha which does not need the water or fertilizer that is required by sugar cane (considered a grass2) or corn.3

  6. sure but I don't know how well it would work. If your looking at a combustion engine, weeds and grass wouldn't burn very cleanly, producing lots of biproducts and carbon soot. Also the amount of latent energy per unit mass of such vegetation is not very high. In other words, you'd need large amounts of vegetations to gain the equivalent amount of energy from other sources. I don't think it's viable at a commercial scale, but would sure be an interesting prototype.

  7. Cool i bet everyone would cut there grass then for sure.Might even be some that would try to steal you whole lawn lol
