The only Guantanamo Bay inmate convicted of terrorism offenses is an australian citizen, David Hicks, a white guy, who converted to islam 2 years before the 2001.

So, don't you find all this ironic?

So many were held in that prison only because they were muslims or arabs, that is pathetic

  1. Toronto-born Omar Khadr, a teen held by U.S. military for 4½ years, could face trial in spring. He has been in Guantanomo since he was 15 years old with no evidence.Khadr and nine other prisoners were previously charged with various offenses, but the charges were dropped in June 2006, when the U.S. Supreme Court intervened. The court ruled that President George W. Bush overstepped his authority when he ordered the initial military tribunals at Guantanamo. The court also said the tribunal rules violated international and U.S. laws. U.S. Congress passed a new bill authorizing new military hearings, with new rules, and Bush signed it into law in October 2006. Some of the rules have drawn criticisms from activists because they allow for the use of hearsay and coerced evidence. The military plans to charge 60 to 80 Guantanamo prisoners under the new system.

Khadr has been accused of training with al-Qaeda.

I am so saddened when I see these men held with no evidence for so long and under deplorable conditions. The United States always speaks of countries that are inhumane and how the world must be democratic. Amerca's idea of democracy is very scary to me. One day may God set it all straight and may they be free. Peace!

  2. I agree, its a camp Hitler would be proud of, have one race/group of religion in a concentration camp and torture them, and the U.S has the nerve of questioning China on its human rights record

  3. Sad but true. As usual with the US administration it is "do as I say, not do as I do".

  4. did you know that most (well over 400) of the original inmates have already been sent home (released) years ago?  You act as if we rounded up every muslim we could find and put them in gitmo and threw away the key.  You are a liar.

Taliban John was an American who was tried and convicted and is in prison.  Did you forget about that traitor?

The rest of the muslims in Guantanamo are being held as prisoners of war.  You obviously don't know anything about law, war, or prisoners of war.  You can't try prisoners of war in a civilian court because such courts do not have jurisdiction and civilian laws do not apply.
