I am a proud australian, I support the Wallabies and totally am devistated by the loss. But the victory was fair. Now not too many Aussies care about the plight of their poor neighbours the kiwi's, but I happen to enjoy watching their syle of play and I really do feel for them after the French match. Sure you should always be humble in defeat which Richie Mcaw was but he should have been celebrating a deserved win.

I am fed up with the tall poppy bashes out there who love to see a champion team fail. End score 20/18 - End score without the foward pass try 13/18. That is NOT rocket science- A mistake by incompetence let that happen. Do you have any sympathy for players who train so d**n hard and miss their families to follow a dream only to be delt such a blow. I cannot think of a game where a referee can make such bad decisions and not suffer dire consequences. This is the professional era where the livelyhoods/income of players are the result of wins. Expect competence!!

  1. I agree, bring on the netball world cup. aussie, nz final!!

  2. You have to ask yourself..whats the bloody use of a TMO. They need to bring something in like they do in American football where you can challenge scores. Maybe 2 per game where if they think there is a forward pass then the TMO reviews it. Quite a few players made a point of saying the pass was forward but did the TMO think of looking at it. No he didnt.

  3. Agree 100% with you. But Referees are human, and they make mistakes. My solution? place another referee, and they would balance each other.

  4. Good point I agree.

It happens in other sports, to name a few: cricket, soccer and yes even league.

The umpires in cricket make some shocking decisions. Their decisions can be heavily influencial on matches.

Soccer is the same, if the opposition is given a penalty it can decide the game. Do you ozzies remember the game in the world cup against Italy?? You guys where whingeing about that for months. Red cards in soccer also change matches dramatically and can be unfair.

In league they still manage to be highly inconsistent when they award/disallow tries even with the video ref. The obstruction rule is a joke. They are also going mental over high tackles now.

I think it is a problem in a lot of sports. So much controversy.

  5. Somehow this is a game, with rules, and somebody to judge if the rules are followed or not. And as this judge is a human being, he can do mistakes, unfortunately. That's not the first time we see a forward pass that is not seen by the ref. This has ruined some players carrier, and left them gutted, for all the things they sacrified in their life to reach this level and to be the best in the world in their discipline, and this is not fair. But who said life is fair...

For the game itself, ABs should have done much much more, so that this ref decision would just be a detail of the story...

  6. yeah that's right. rugby league is much easier to follow and australia actually win at it.

  7. Agreed. That was poor reffing for this level of rugby. With all the technology they have now, what has happened to touch judges, video replay, appeals? and all that...

Although, I do think the All Blacks did not perform well in the second half. There is a website forum here in NZ that is really taking down that referee. I agree that the ref should be assessed on his performance and evicted but I don't agree with death threats and abuse toward them
