My personal opinion is that weapons used for warfare should be obliterated or put to better use, for example Nukes should be used to destroy asteroids or at least nock them of a path that would lead to collision with earth.

Even if you get rid of weapons, you're just leaving everyone defenseless. Someone could come along, raise up an army, and manufacture their own weapons in secret. By the time we had any to match them, they'd have won.

Bad idea is bad!

Personally, I think technology should never be destroyed. Only improved on.

EDIT: And this is coming from someone who loves the idea of fighting with swords and whatnot. I actually own a longbow...so if there was a viable way to get rid of all more powerful weapons, I'd be all for it.

If a nuke hit an asteriod The Asteroid would bombard the earth in pieces and these pieces would be radioactive.

Technology that should be removed should be rotating ice cream cone holders. How lazy can you get?

I agree on destroying weapons, but how do you not know about the nukes? Everyone knows this, it is scientifically proven-- If you nuke an asteroid, it will become thousands of radioactive asteroids and will still fall down to earth, making even more destruction, and cause massive radioactive poisoning.

Yes, all biological, chemical and explosive weapons, including hand-held grenade launchers as well as the grenades, mines, etc. should be destroyed.  Maybe we should destroy guns also.  If we had to go to war using hand weapons such a swords and lances, I will pet we wouldn't be fighting for a long and casualties would be way down.

Nukes should be dismantled and their components used in power plants.

No technology should be destroyed. It should be properly understood. In this way we can find better uses for it.

Technology has the capacity to enhance or corrupt our lives. Technology is not good or evil. It is the uses it it put to by the people who use it that determine that status.

With out the study of Nuclear technology and radiation we would have no chemotherapy.

Perhaps your question should have been which users of technology should be destroyed?

In that case I would start with most governments of the world and make George bush the first to be put into the incinerator closely followed by Gordon Brown.
