  1. First strike simply means that in a creature vs creature combat (blocking the attacker), the first strike creature strikes first, and if the other creature survives, it may strike back.

If you choose not to block a creature with first strike, the first strike ability has no advantage vs a player.

  2. First strike deals damage first...but when a creature blocks it.  first strike just means your creature gets to make the attack first.  If the creature that blocked it lives, he then does his damage.  It's a way to take advantage with creatures who are like 3/1.  Let's say your opponent has a 2/3 and you have a 3/1 with first strike.  You attack and he blocks.  Because you have first strike, you do your damage first, and because it would kill his creature, yours takes no damage.

As for the deck....well I don't really see anything.  The cards are all from the same set/editions but it has no stratedgy to it.  It's just creatures that don't really benifit you much.  Half of the strong ones come in as 3/3's or 2/2's and they cost like 5 mana.  Also, the split cards that have white or green in it are a waiste.  If you just started playing it's a start, but it could use a lot of work.  Try and get more black/red cards, mono or double color.  Seeing how most of them have -1/-1 counters, maybe look for cards that can move them to other creatures, and cards that benefit from that.

    Well good luck :D

  3. Yes, absolutely First strike creatures can block and be blocked. It's just a matter of the power/toughness matrix interaction between creatures.

like if I had a Wall of Razors (4/1)and blocked a Rushwood Elemental (4/4) with no counters on it, then the Rushwood would die and Wall would remain.

As for the deck what direction or combo are you trying to pull???

try checking out    www.essentialmagic.com  for possible ideas man!

  4. I don't see a kill method here, is there a of theme or specialty or combo because I don't see it.  You have good cards but this list will not let work for gameplay.  Look at the list and decide which direction you wish to go with it.
