The Bayern Munich assistant manager has developed his liking for the Bochum Under-17 youngster and wants to recruit him at the end of this season.
Bayern Munich assistant manager, Hermann Gerland, has expressed his desire to bring in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfL-Bochum-c40880 youngster, Leon Goretzka, at the end of this season. The youngster has been in prolific form this term for the 2. Bundesliga side
and has impressed Gerland. As a result, the assistant has admitted his liking for the teenager, and told Bochum about his desire to acquire the player.
Gerland believes that Goretzka could be a hit at the Allianz-Arena, and will further strengthen the side. He feels that the youngster will easily fit in the Bavarian set-up, and will certainly be useful addition to the squad as
a possible replacement to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Arjen-Robben-c6521 or Franck Ribery.
The 16-year-old winger has already made rapid strides in his career, and having scored six times from eight appearances at the U-17 level, Goretzka has also impressed at U-19 level.
While talking to the sports magazine, Fussball-Vorot, the assistant manager further elaborated:
"(Goretzka is) a young player who is very interesting for Bayern Munich. I have spoken with VfL (Bochum) and said that I am interested in bringing this player to Munich."
On the other hand, Bochum bosses have confirmed of interest from Bayern, but are keen to keep hold of their prized asset. The officials insisted that Goretzka will not be sold so cheaply having spent enough time at the rewirpower-Stadion
furnishing his skills. They opined that the player will not benefit from the move as he will get limited chances to play for the first team at Allianz Arena.
 "We want to show him that in Bochum he has better means to get into professional football. What help would it be for him if he were to sit on the bench or only be used in the second team at a big club?" the officials concluded.
Bochum are currently ninth in the 2. Bundesliga with 24 points from 19 outings, and their next test will come against the relegation contenders, Hansa Rostock, on Sunday, February 5.
