Why is it beneficial for the worm to be a hermaphrodite if it reproduces sexually?

  1. Although hermaphroditic (containing both male and female reproductive organs), worms do need to reproduce sexually with a partner.  When worms copulate, both of the worms become fertilized and bear young.


  2. It's not a herm, it can chose to be male or female depending on what is needed at the time like oysters.

    if there are a lot of male worms, some can turn female to reproduce, and vice verse.

  3. Won't have to go far to find a partner because other worm can change s*x.
