Hermit Crab help?

Question

My boss gave me a hermit crab her roomates left behind and i have no idea how to care for it. I have a cage and what not that came with him but i dont know if i wet the sand or really anything ill attach a pic casue i dont even know if hes a land or water crab.

i used to have a hermit crab like that.

just leave the sand the way it is, dry and get a small

bowl or something full of water and hermit crab food.

it'll be fine.

I've had many hermit crabs because I love them. It's good that you have the different sized shells. They'll come in handy. It's important not to overfeed them. Hermit crabs only need a very small amount of food every other day. You should watch it eat one time and if it leaves any extra, you've fed him too much. He will also need a sponge. Get a small dish, fill it half way with water, soak the sponge, then put it in the water dish. The sponge needs to be wet at ALL times. You should check it every day. Also, Hermit crabs like to climb. Is he in a glass or plastic cage? if so, you might want to WATCH him but let him out every once in a while for exercise. Or you can by cages with rungs for climbing. Also, another important thing that most people forget....you should bathe him once a week....all you need to do is make him a small dish for bathing in his tank and rub down his shell with water to make sure he's clean. They get unhappy and then sick if they're dirty or dry. He doesn't need a heat lamp or anything, just make sure he's away from air vents and check on him every once in awhile to make sure he doesn't feel cold. I know that sounds like a lot but they're really low maintenance.

Anyays. Looks to me like a land one, what you needa do is get a reasonabl tank, and some shellsthe same size, and bigger to his already there shell.

The tank should also have kitty litter ('cause sand get's caught it the crab and you ahve to clean it)

-A lukewarm spray bottle, to spray he tank with (on a daily basis)

-A salt water dish (to drink and bathe)

-a clean, water bowl containing BOTTLED SPRING water ('cause of nasty chemicals and what not)

- a fod bowl, fodis easiy obtained from pet shops, but crabbies eat close to anything...

-and lastly I suggest you gt another crab, cause crabs like buddies^.^

They're easy to take care of, Just feed and spray them every day

If you want clean them by dunking them in warm water,

And the tank gets cleaned weekly, and/or monthly.

i think you need a special metal comb and medicine to get rid of it

Take a Sea Sponge (You can buy them from Petsmart) and wet it..Then set it a little plate. It'll suck it out of the sponge.
