Hermit crab attacked by cat?

my hermit crab was on the table in its cage and my cat jumped on the table and smacked him off the next day we found him in the corner and i want to no if he is ok

  1. your hermit crab is probably okay. pick it up and see if it will come out. give it some water in the sponge and food.

Just put him back in his tank and leave him alone for a few days so he can destress from the traumatic event that just occured.  What type of tank does he have?  Does it have sand as the substrate?  If so, he will probably dig down for a few days to a few weeks.  If you have gravel as the substrate, you need to go get some playground sand that is at least twice as deep as he is tall.  This is so they can molt properly and they live much longer that way.

  3. If he is intact inside the shell...

    If not, he might die in a few days.Hermit crabs are shelled but delicate and can't really compete with a cat's muscle.

    Cats attack everithing that seems non threatening.

    They hunt AND play with prey as part of their instinctive "how to kill" self learning sessions.

    Maintain your cat far away from defenseless pets!

    They don't care if they are cute.

    Most likely they ARE interested if they are cute.
