Hermit crab habitat help needed!!!?

Question

i have a ten gal tank wich has a metal top and hard hard glass/plastic walls. I have one hermie (im going to get another)

i have 2 in. sand

Food and water dishes

climbing toy

thermomiter

hermie hut

another toy

should i get a heater or lamp???

its really cold in my room all day long and so should i ?????

i feel sorry for her so plz answer soon!i want her to be happy...

i really think i should get a heating pad. advice???

yea i used to have a hermit and it died from freezing so we got another and got a heating pad that time and he lived a good life.

always keep her moist they need to be in a moist climate and if u soak a sponge and stick it in ther itll help..they need to be in room temp. so u might wanna get her a lamp. remember hermit crabs need friends so thts good ur getting another u might also wanna get her a dish of water for her to climb in and sit in

yes she needs an under the tank heater...  not a lamp, that would make it too dry in there.  A natural sponge in her water dish would help with humidity as well.  here are some great sites with info. for you to research.

my family tried to take care of hermit crabs, they were to hard to take care of, they all just died, after about the 3rd round we gave up...no advice for ya! sry!

Darling hermit crabs need the tides, and rocks from the ocean and would need a salt water tank with tides to work.  In other words you can't really grown them at home unless you want to be cruel, so first chance you get take little hermie to the ocean,  tide pools preferable and let it go!

imy son had 2 in a cheap tank with sand and water we forgot about them on and off and after a year of this one finally died so they are pretty tough cookies i wouldnt concern yourself to much with them having it rough. but get the items if it makes you happy!!!

Give them crabs some purple drank. they will be a swervin and a leanin right out of they shells.

put a sponge ( natural sea) in the water dish, you need to maintain a comfortable moist climate, I'd go with a heating pad and a light on a timer for days.

I would get one of those heat rocks that you set in the bottom of the cage and then it has a cord you plug in for power. That way you won't have to worry about frying your crabs. If they are cold they can choose to go sit on the rock or next to it when they need it.
