Hermit crabs never molted!!!!!?

I have 2 crabs, skully and dracula, they each molted once at the same time, it has been around 7 months now and they havent molted.

please help, is this bad or normal, bcuz they havent ever changes shells either....

well actually dracula my baby crab did, but he changes right back in like 5 minutes

  1. Make sure your temp and humidity are high enough. The sand should be twice as deep as your largest crab so they can burrow deep enough come molting time.


  2. I used to have a hermit crab and he moulted once a year...some do it more often, it just depends on the crab, I wouldn't worry about it.  And they know when to change shells, just make sure to have a new one ready for them and they'll do it on their own, when the time is right.

  3. Different hermit crabs molt differently. Smaller hermit crabs more often than larger crabs. Hermit crabs can molt anywhere from every month or once a year depending on size.

  4. hermit crabs molt in different times every time. they should mold soon.
