Swansea City have agreed on a £5.5 million deal for Valencia’s right winger, Pablo Hernandez, for a period of 3 years, making him the fifth Spanish player in the team.
With Scott Sinclair’s departure to Manchester City, and the transfer window closing up soon, Swansea needed to act quickly.
However, could this be considered a hasty decision? Hernandez has been a first team regular for Valencia, but lately the Spaniard has not been favoured as a starter for Los Che.
Trained in Valencia’s youth system, Pablo made his debut for the main team in 2006.
During the 2006-2007 season, Pablo was loaned to Cadiz CF in the Segunda Division.
When he was back in Valencia, he scored his first goal in 2008 for the season’s UEFA Cup. Ever since then the Spaniard has proven himself countless times, scoring against top teams like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Barcelona-c38604, and ending his time in Valencia recently with 16 goals in
111 appearances.
While he was playing for Getafe, the Spaniard scored 3 goals in 28 appearances. Before that, he scored 4 goals in 22 matches while on loan to Cadiz CF, and 4 goals in 16 matches for Valencia’s B team.
Recently, the 28-year-old winger has been asking Valencia to move him to Swansea, hoping for a bit of more game-time.
Therefore, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Valencia-c40863 finally gave in, and settled for what seems like a very reasonable price.
However, the 28-year-old Spaniard hasn’t been chosen for the starting 11 recently and one should be wary of how much Swansea can rely on the Spaniard.
Swansea needed solid midfield players after the departure of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Scott-Sinclair-c32675 as the 23-year-old Englishman had a very impressive background for Swansea.
With 28 goals in 82 appearances, the young winger certainly has quite a reputation, and there is no doubt as to why Man City picked up the player so readily.
Apart from just playing well for Swansea, Sinclair scored 1 goal in 18 appearances for Wigan between 2009 and 2010, 2 goals in 6 appearances while on loan to Crystal Palace in 2008, and 1 goal in 9 appearances for QPR.
Swansea are now trying to purchase Marvin Emnes from Middlesbrough, and Ashley Westwood from Crewe Alexandra, as the transfer window is about to close within a day.
