Hernandez seals victory in The Swindon Arc Trials Stakes Bags
Hernandez proved his credentials on the night of 1st February by winning The Swindon Arc Trials Stakes Bags with a wide margin of 6 ½ lengths over, Kingsmill Super, at the Swindon greyhound racing track. It was an Open Race
of 480m.
After breaking from trap 5, the novice hound demonstrated outstanding and match less performance to complete the distance in 28.31 seconds. With 6 to 1 starting price, the C A Stringer trained dog was not a favourite for the prestigious event, but
he stunned all by accomplishing a glorious victory against his competitors.
It was just the second triumph by the black dog in his fourth race of his career which commenced on January 12. He won his second-last race on January 25 with a margin of ¾ of a length.
By winning the ace race, the son of Droopys Kewell, out of Lively Clipper managed to establish himself as a potential contender for further victories in the upcoming races of the calendar year. He is also likely to earn the favourite tag now.
Indeed, last night’s conquest was Hernandez’s landmark achievement which is supposed to pull further more victories for the young dog along with shooting up his morale.
Among the other five hounds, Kingsmill Super grabbed second position. Having got trailed badly by 6 ½ lengths, the black dog reached the finish line in 28.83 seconds. The trainee of K J Findlay broke from trap 6 with the 5 to 2 starting price. The
son of Head Bound, out of Lunar Vacation was whelped in October, 2009, and started his career in September, 2011.
The third top spot in the race went to, Maireads Hawk, who was the hot favourite hound with the starting price of 7 to 4. The C Allsopp-trained dog broke from trap 4, and took 28.91 seconds to reach the distance.
Killacolla Eagle notched up fourth position in the race while Rockview Sail and Forest Dot stood fifth and sixth, respectively.
At the end of the event, the winner earned £150, while the second position holder bagged £25. Each of the other four hounds got £20.
