who is your hero or heroine (dead or alive)?and why? mine is queen Elizabeth the 1st because she overcame adversity and gave herself for england. also winston churchill becuse he was the lions roar for us in the war years and kept the british spirit alive. what about you???

From a British point of view, Winston Churchill's character and spirit saved the country in 1940. He was the finest English Man of the last two hundred years,and his contribution to British life is often overlooked.

I admire George VI greatly (you did ask your question in Royalty) because he never wanted to be King but just got on with it and did his best.

On a non-royal footing; the writer, poet and campaigner Gary Snyder is my hero. He is an American 'backwoodsman' who has been writing since the 1950s.

I like that Lucky Charms mascot Lucky the Leprechaun. they keep trying to get his lucky charms but he never gives them up. Pink hearts, green clovers, oh it's just too good!!!!

Joan of Arc.  I admire her tremendously for her nerve in putting herself forward to lead the French army, and not caring how much anyone laughed at her.  And making the French army obey her, which was truly remarkable for a teenage peasant girl.  She was an astounding person.
