Heroic Lewis Hamilton looks up to Tiger Woods in times of trouble
Lewis Hamilton looks at the sporting icon, Tiger Woods to get inspiration for the upcoming 2011 Formula One season.
After landing at 4th place finish in the Drivers’ Championship in 2010 is surely not what the driver or his team were anticipating after a year long struggle. As the season began to ripen, the driver came up with some really exciting rounds. The
dramatic crash of the Red Bull drivers at the Turkish Grand Prix was availed brilliantly by Hamilton, as he clinched the first victory of the season. The following Canadian round granted him second victory, elevating him to the top of the drivers’ charts.
However, the dominance of the points’ tally for a long period during the season did not help him lay his hands on the second championship of his career. The last part of the season embraced the driver with heaps of misfortunes. Not only did the team have
the third fastest car of the season, but also the driver failed to show good racing skills at many of the races. The odd over taking moves at the Italian GP and then in Singapore badly dimmed his chances of victory.
Now, as the driver recalls the season he revealed that some very crucial problems in his personal life halted him from performing his best. However, he is adamant to resolve all the problems around him before he enters the next season.
While talking to the media earlier today he stated that he wants to "smooth everything off" before the next battle for the title begins.
He expressed his aspirations and aims for next season saying, "I look at the likes of Tiger Woods - I see him as the best golfer, he's a complete legend. He's had many, many things that have had an impact on him this year, but he still plays, he still pars
it, he still gets birdies.”
The 25-year-old stated that Woods is a complete inspiration for him and in troubled times he looks up to him for required motivation and encouragement. The British driver concluded saying, "But that to him is a bad year, but to other people - I play golf
and I'd love to get a par - when everything is right he is amazing.”
At the start of the 2010 season Hamilton decided not to take his father, Anthony Hamilton, as his manager for this season. Since the start of his racing career, Anthony has been with his son and parting ways at the start of 2010 hurt both, immensely. However,
it is now believed that things are getting better between the two and next season can see a renewed relationship between them.
