  1. Well, the biggest heronry in Western Europe is in the woods about 3 miles from here - as some new residents found out when they installed an ornamental fishpond!


  2. Well ours do!

    They are often found amongst the trees here on our property.

    Did you know that they also stalk fields for mice and frogs?

    Its quite something to see them in the field next to our woods and river stalking about and suddenly diving their beak into the grass and then standing eating their breakfast.  They seem to do it in the a.m. rather than the p.m. - obviously when the pickings are best!!!

    The rest of the time the little pesky's are after the trout.

    But we leave them to it, its nature after all!!!
