Question:

Herpes and a virgin?

I had that herpes pimply itchy dry rash on my lower back a year ago, and I have never had s*x or even kissed or anything.

I got it treated and have no scars or anything, but because my mom insists on only seeing Russian doctors, no one explains anything to me in English!

How is this possible? Could it have just been a genetic thing?

Will I give herpes to my future sexual partner?

  1. its probably not genital herpes. its probably shingles or something.even the chibken pox is herpes. but unless it was so low on your back as to surround your a**hole it was not genital. any doc in america will tell u that.

  2. How do you know that it's herpes? Did the doctor do a culture on the rash and it came back positive for herpes?

  3. This isn't herpes.

Herpes is almost always on your mouth (oral hepres) and your genitals (genital herpes).    It is spread through skin-to-skin contact, and is NOT characterized by a "pimply itchy dry rash."   The symptoms are usually recurring sores - either blisters that crust over or small cut-like sores.   The skin often itches right before an outbreak, but then the outbreak comes and you get painful lesions.

Shingles is a disease in the herpes family of viruses, but it is caused by the chicken pox virus and is not actually herpes.  Shingles can happen anywhere on your body, is usually very very painful, and can take a long time to heal up.   It is contagious - but the person who caught it would catch chicken pox, not shingles.

My mother was no help at all with sexual medical stuff when I was a teenager.  I would suggest that you, by yourself, go to a public health clinic to see about getting birth control when the time comes that you may be getting sexually active.   Once you are sexually active, a free clinic can give you annual checkups and STD testing (and treatment if necessary).   Like me, you'll need to find a way to get medical advice about sexual things by yourself.

    Good luck.

  5. its pretty rare to have herpes on parts of your body besides your face or genitals, if u have never kissed some one or had s*x.

herpes is not really genetic. u can be born with it but that it not likely these days since most mothers with herpes have c-sections in order to prevent herpes being passed to their child.

it could be shingles which is related to chicken pox (herpes zooster). this is some thing that can happen on almost any part of the body and u don't need to have s*x to get shingles.

first of all u need to find out for sure if its herpes or not. u can get tested at planned parent hood or free clinic and u don't have to have a parent with u (at planneed parent hood). u need to have the doctor test u for herpes and shingles to find out for sure. or ask the doctor to explain it to u in english.

  6. Well its possible that your mom had them and when you were delivered she delivered you vaginally.  Thats really the only way?
