Hertha Berlin manager Markus Babbel has stated that he is elated with the 3-0 win against FC Koln at home in the recent Bundesliga fixture. He claimed that the side was brilliant in front of the home crowd and truly deserved to
win the match in the end.
Berlin downed the struggling FC Koln 3-0 at the Olympiastadion on Saturday to secure all three points. Striker Pierre-Michel Lasogga scored a brace followed by a goal from http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Raffael-c30414 as the home side got their third win of the current
season.
The Blue-Whites sit in 10th place on the Bundesliga standings table with 12 points after winning three games from the eight played.
Babbel claimed that his team finally got the tactics right in a home game this season. He admitted that there was a brilliant balance between attack and defence and the team created many chances throughout the course of 90 minutes.
The tactician insisted that the victory will surely bring a lot of confidence to the squad and he expects the team to be more consistent in the future games.
“In the first half we finally implemented what we had hoped to do in all our other home matches. We found the right balance between defending and being aggressive going forward today and managed to score at the right times,” he
was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, FC Koln manager Stale Solbakken expressed his disappointment on the loss and admitted that his side made a lot of mistakes. He admitted that the hosts deserved the victory after the performance they put in and
added that his players failed to create any opportunities to score.
“It was a deserved win for Hertha; we made one, two or three big mistakes. Hertha used them to their advantage. Hertha didn't have that many chances during the first half, but they used the ones they created, while we also struggled
to create chances for ourselves,” he concluded.
