Hertha Berlin midfielder Raffael disappointed with FC Augsburg draw- Bundesliga news
Hertha http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Berlin-c7536 midfielder Raffael has expressed his disappointment on dropping points against FC Ausburg on Saturday. He insisted that Berlin should have won the match as they were leading in the second-half. The player was also
furious for the serious tackles he faced on the pitch and blamed the referee for not tackling the situation well.
The Blue-Whites drew 2-2 against FC Augsburg at the Olympiastadion on Saturday after being in the lead in the second-period. The team is currently tenth on the Bundesliga standings table with nine points from the six games played
and have won two games so far in the season.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Raffael-c30414 admitted that his side could have won the match and that it was a lapse in concentration that led to the opposition’s equaliser after the interval. He insisted that the players were complacent and did not expect Augsburg
to score but they did.
“Obviously I'm not happy, but also with my performance. We have lost two important points. Only goals count,” he was quoted as saying in an interview to Bild.
The Brazilian was also furious on the tough tackles Augsburg players put in and blamed the referee for not showing concern. The player claimed that he could have faced a serious injury from the opposition’s challenges and labelled
it as alleged assault from the visitors.
He added that this happens with players who are technically gifted but the match referees should protect them and discourage rash challenges by giving cards.
“I was badly fouled three times, and I'm afraid that one day I'll be seriously injured. The fouls are becoming more common, the opponents attack harder and harder. Therefore, as a player from the game. That's like assault. But
I was his opinion that the players who have better technical skills, should be protected by the referees better,” he concluded.
Raffael has so far made 115 league appearances for Hertha Berlin in his three years at the club and has scored 29 goals in the process. The attacking midfielder has also played for Chiaso and FC Zurich before joining the Blue-Whites.
