The manager was shown the door after he failed to win any game with his new side with the club’s latest outing being the 5-0 defeat to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/VfB-Stuttgart-c40879.
The http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Berlin-c7536 giants suffered an embarrassing 5-0 loss at the hands of Stuttgart in their last Bundesliga fixture which was their fourth consecutive defeat in the league and their fifth overall under Skibbe. The club now finds itself
only two points from the relegation zone with 13 games to go until the end of the season.
Club’s sporting director, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-c25261 Preetz, insisted that the club had to take the step as Hertha Berlin suffered their fifth loss in a row. He admitted that the margin of defeat and the way the team played against Die Roten made
it clear to him that Skibbe is no longer suitable for this http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684.
He took all the responsibility for the decision to appoint Michael Skibbe as manager and admitted that parting ways with the manager is for the good of the side at this moment.
“After five defeats in a row and in the wake of the 5-0 debacle at Stuttgart, we found ourselves compelled to take this step. It was above all the manner of the defeat at Stuttgart that forced us to take action. I'll be clear about
this: as sporting director of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hertha-BSC-c39521, I bear the responsibility for the personnel decisions,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
On the other hand, Skibbe expressed his frustration on the embarrassing loss against Stuttgart. He stated that his side played poorly throughout the match and deserved to lose with the 5-0 margin.
“I'm deeply disappointment by the performance we have delivered. The first half was the worst that I have experienced as a coach. It was so bad that I can't find words to describe it,” he concluded.
The Berlin based side is expected to name the next manager this week. Holger Stanislawski, who was recently sacked as the manager at Hoffenheim is the favourite for the job at the moment but Michael Oenning and Marcus Sorg are
also viable options.
