Babbel claimed that Hertha have been unlucky in their last few fixtures and the side surely wants to end the winless run and achieve a victory on Saturday. He admitted that there have been a few draws in the last few games but
has remained confident that the team will make a strong comeback.
The Blue-Whites are placed just outside the top ten with 19 points from the 16 games played and have already played a staggering seven draws this season which is more than any team in the Bundesliga. The good thing is that they
have suffered defeat on only five occasions in the current campaign.
Markus Babbel is not worried with the draws and has stated that the team’s last five matches have not been poor results; they have been some very impressive performances. He insisted that the team has been very unlucky with their
chances and has wasted some good opportunities to win the game.
“If we had played five disastrous games, then I would say that the team has a problem with the issue, but we have played three draws in a row and now we want to break our winless run,” he was quoted as saying in an interview.
The tactician admitted that there is room for improvement in the future games as results are the main thing and has targeted a top ten finish at the end of the this year. He added that a win would definitely strengthen their position
in the league and would give them the confidence to return positively next year.
“We have a great chance to end the first half of the season on a high,” the Berlin boss concluded.
Hertha Berlin won the 2.Bundesliga last season and were promoted to the first division under manager Markus Babbel. The former German international achieved the feat in his maiden year at the club and is now aiming for a finish
in the top half of the table at the end of the season.
