Hes Getin Nearer likely to stand first in Standard Dup
Hes Getin Nearer seems to be in the most favourable position to lift the title of Bedford Road Standard Dup, a high-stakes Open Race that is going to be held at Henlow track on Thursday night, April 19.
The P. Simmonds-trained black dog is set to face five worthy rivals including Jaytee Bliss, Crusing Gino, Blackrose Ned, Westmead Apollo and Crossfield Jet in the significant contest over a distance of 460 meters.
The hot favourite hound will break from Trap 2 when the action begins at 21:30 (GMT).
Since the dawn of 2012, the two-year-old maverick runner has been registering impressive performances both at Henlow and Harlow tracks.
The dashing dog elegantly bagged two triumphs along with a runner-up rank in February. He went ahead to gain three runner-up position in a row in the month of March.
The talented son of Dods Delight out of Castle Barns accomplished a fabulous hat-trick by finishing first with reasonable margins in three consecutive races from March 29 to April 12.
As a whole, the talented hound possesses an epic track record. Since making his debut in May 2011, he has been winning with regular intervals.
Hes Getin Nearer will surely be able to demonstrate a sterling run in tonight’s marathon as well, having more than 90 chances to finish first.
Among the other runners, Blackrose Ned Crossfield Jet possesses enough potential to cause upsets in the race.
Blackrose Ned won two races in a row during the last decade of March, 2012. Prior to this, E. Cantillon’s light fawn dog had achieved a classic triumph along with a runner-up rank in the first two decades of the same month.
Crossfield Jet marvellously grabbed top spot in a tough competition on March 22, 2012 and went ahead to finish 2nd in the very next race on March 26. The N. Savva-trained black dog finished 5th in the last two starts of his career.
In this situation, Hes Getin Nearer will have to be wary of both these hounds while making his way towards the finish line. Even a slight mistake can deprive him of success. Good luck to all the contestants.
