Heurelho Gomes expresses concern over riots, Tottenham Hotspur vs Everton is postponed by Premier League

can be declared safe.

The Spurs goalkeeper revealed he was staying away from the affected areas, and advised other people to do the same. He said the club had advised the players to stay home until the situation was brought under control.
Gomes said while speaking to reporters:
“We have not seen anything yet, because our neighbourhood is quieter, but people are very scared. We are advised to stay at home.
The training ground is located two minutes from my house and I drive. None of the players I spoke to with the club had problems. The club only asked us to be careful.”

in the world anymore.
While Tottenham Hotspur had previously released a statement on their official website according to which they expected the opening fixture of the new Premier League season against Everton at White Hart Lane to go ahead as scheduled.
However, the Premier League has revealed that the clash has now been postponed after the failure of the police to restore order in London. While the situation has improved drastically, the Premier League feels it’s not entirely safe to hold a match at White
Hart Lane.
Premier League chief executive Richard Scudamore confirmed at the official launch for the Premier League that the match had indeed been called off. He revealed that while the police had done an impressive job, they had not been able to guarantee the return
of Tottenham High Road in time.
Scudamore said in an interview:
“The very latest situation is that we know that we are going to lose the Tottenham-http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Everton-c39043 game.
In fairness to the police they have done a fantastic http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Job-c18684, but they are unable to hand Tottenham High Road back to the council until Friday night and that is late enough to get a safety certificate in time.”
Scudamore confirmed that the other nine Premier League fixtures over the weekend would progress as planned. He revealed it had been the decision of the police to postpone the match, which was why the Premier League had eventually decided to hold the Tottenham
Hotspur vs Everton fixture.
