Heven and h**l?

Why is Heven up why can't it be down? Im just wondering no offence whatsoever.

In my opinion I think that because the sky is above us and it's so clear & free & bright & so illuminating that it would be where "Heaven" should be.  On the other hand anything underfoot or buried (like when we die) or things in a dark and scary place or when you feel "down" or any place where there is pain that should be where "h**l" is.  I don"t believe in either one so myself but if proven to me I think this is what it's like....

it is neither up nor down, it is in a spiritual reality.  it just sounds better up I guess

i think it's cause down is under the earth and it is hot and perilous under there (h**l). And it is beautiful and magnificent up in the sky (Heaven). There u go.

You always hear of angels riding on clouds and stuff thats why I always thought it was up.

The Bible doesn't tell us where heaven is.  I don't think heaven is in a particular physical location in this universe in  the sense that astronauts could fly to it if they had an advanced spaceship.

I think this is psychologically based on what people see  physically above and below them.  

People associate good things with the open expanse of "up" - the sky, heavens, outerspace, light, knowledge - and they associate bad things with the uncertainty of "down" - caves, deep oceans, abysses, darkness, ignorance.
