Well, i just have a few questions:

Im also going swimming tomorrow (not on my oeriod then), but should i wear a tampon to see if it stays in while im in the water? ive heard you shouldnt use tampons when your not on your period though ??

Im doing breast stroke, and obv breast stoke makes your legs go in a funny movement (legs all the way out then in again) would it not get the inside of the tampon wet with water from the pool when my v****a ... opens? or would the tampon come out!?

Im not afraid of putting a tampon in, im just afraid it will come out while im swimming and im going tomorrow with 3 girls and 4 boys who are all in the swimming competition. And it would be SOOO embarrasing if the tampon just came out and floated to the top of the water :/ :(

HELP?!?!

  1. you do not have to worry about it i did the test myself it does not come out, besides once you apply the tampon it forms to the curves of the v****a.  my periods are really heavy too and i have never had problems with tampons if you are worried about leakage also.

  2. Don't worry, there's no way the tampon can come out unless you pull on the string designed for that purpose :) The muscles in your v****a hold it in securely.

When you go swimming, I wouldn't suggest wearing a tampon if you're not on your period. It's good to practice using a tampon, but using a tampon when you're not on your period means the tampon can harbor bacteria, especially if it's just sitting in there for a while. Plus, a dry tampon isn't very comfortable to take out.

Also, no pool water can get in or do anything to the tampon. Tampons are meant for swimming =]

There's really no possible way for the tampon to come out if it's inserted properly, other than pulling the string. That's the point =]

  3. Just confirming gary 7's answer, the first one. Give her best answer.

I'm 34 and been using tampons for 23 years, (since I was 13). So, to restate:

No, they will not fall out in the water, and no pool water will get inside.

  4. A tampon WILL stay in.  Those suckers don't come out unless you pull on the string.  You have nothing to worry about.  :)

Your v****a is actually made up of many, many very strong muscles and it will stay all the way closed, even during swimming or other vigorous physical activity, unless you are planning to have s*x or are having a baby.  :)  It keeps itself closed, so no pool water will get in, and the tampon won't come out.

I've been using tampons for 19 years now and have never had one come out when I didn't pull on the string, including when I was swimming.  So don't worry about it!

  5. A tampon can't just "slip out" of you.

Try tampax pearl lites to start with, as they are very slender and have a plastic applicator.  After you get used to it, try a higher absorbency.

You need to wear a tampon while on your period, you really shouldn't wear a tampon tomorrow "just to see if it stays in" especially when you are not on your period.

Don't wear a tampon if you are not on your period.
