Nebraska is primarily an agricultural state producing corn, soybeans, milo, some wheat and sugar beets. It is also a major producer of beef cattle, hogs with turkey and chicken production as well.

Geologically, Nebraska has several sand pumping operations producing the substance for construction and other purposes. In years past potash was mined in the Sandhills but this is no longer the case. There is a small uranium area that produces in the northwest of the state. Limestone is also mined/procured in different areas of the state.

Manufacturing includes but is not limited to agricultural equipment (combines, center pivot irrigation). Rubber belt production (in Lincoln), oil filter production (Kearney and Gothenburg). A few towns in the state also house meat packing facilities. There are quite a number of smaller industries which produce various goods.
