hey, i want to travel to the uk in december to visit my boyfriend.... i want to know how much money i would need for 6 months, my boyfriend has offered to support me if i run out of money, but ive heard that if i say i am visiting to visit my boyfriend i may not be allowed in.

I am a british citizen living in australia and when me and my australian husband travelled he got h**l at every gate - Dont mention the B/f and you'll be fine - beware though the travel visa runs out after 180 days so if you are going for a full 6 months apply for a work visa even if you dont plan on working :-) cause thats what else got him in trouble as we got to the end of the 180 days - day 170 by memory coming back in from paris he got interrogated - - and I spent 30K but did alot of country hopping and a contiki for 46 days over 22 countries :o) so you could probably do cheaper taking out all my european flights and accomodation in europe (I stayed with family in UK)

No 1 budget trip... STAY out of london for long periods of time!!! LOL

if your boyfriend is going to support you you should be allowed in, for 6 months bring about £5000.00, it's very expensive here and you'll want to go out a bit.
