So I recently found out we're moving sooner than I thought. Like in 2 days lol. But anyways I'm just a little concerned about my room.

The original idea was that I was going to share the HUGE attic with my sister. It's the entire second floor!!!!! Now my sister wants a downstairs room to be closer to our mom (7 year olds, go figure right? lol)

So now I have this huge room and I love it! But I it has a lot of empty space and I have no idea what to fill it with to make it more cozy!

FEATURES I WANT TO PLAY UP IN THE ROOM:

*The stair way

*The three windows

*The walls. The room is not square at all. I think I'm going to go for a retro/vintage look with posters of The Beatles, Audrey Hepburn, etc. etc.

*The fact that room is so big in general lol

I'm a teen lol, anyone have some room design tips? :)

  1. STAIRWAY:

~if it has a railing, you could wrap something around it like fake flowers/leaves, or ribbon or something.

~if the stairs are wooden, you could paint them, like each a different color, or just one color

~if it has neither, sorry i didnt help with that. =]

    WINDOWS:

~you could get some really cool drapes and stuff, if your going for the vinatge look, they have really cool victorian stuff everywhere.

    WALLS:

    the Beatles rock! :D

~im not sure what colors you would want, but if you post them I'll edit my answer.

    LIGHTING:

~ive always thought that putting like white Christmas lights up looks really awesome. if gives it a cool modern look. very teenage. lol

with the room size, you could do a lot of cool things with it! which is awesome. you could have a sitting area with a couple chairs or a love seat or something. and you can get some cool floor lamps. if you post the color scheme you want to do for your walls i could get a better idea of things you could put in it. =]

  2. Yes I do have a few ideas.

    1. http://tbn0.google.com/images?q=tbn:j4Bo...

    2 A computer with a big desk

    3 A couch

    4 A big stereo

    5 Maybe a television with a stand

    lolz 7 year olds

  3. You could create a mini lounge area somewhere.

You can get cheap sofas from IKEA, if you get one which is a sofa bed as well it would be a big bonus and will be great for any friends staying over.

You could also ask your parents for a en suite. As it would add value to the house (though it may be a bit expensive to do and to much work).

Bigger pieces of furniture will also use up the space.

Also if you wanted, for one wall you could do a mirage of all them posters you wanted as a focus point of the room.

Good luck and i'm sure whatever you pick it will look great. =)
