  1. Unfortunately, I don't know about Queensland's laws, but in the US, adoptive parents have every right a biological parent would have had once the adoption is finalized.  More importantly, the child has every right as well.  This means he is considered just as a biological child for all things, including inheritance, etc.  In fact, in the US, once an adoption is finalized, a new birth certificate is issued to the child listing the adoptive parents as his parents just as if they had given birth to him.
