  1. It depends what kind of stuff you like and what area you live in. Some nice reliable places are Cherry Jam in Porchester Road, Trailer Happiness in Portobello Road and the ICA bar near Trafalgar Square (check what they are doing on a particular night). The Good Ship in Kilburn, The Boogaloo in Highgate and The Ship off Old Compton Street are good pubs. But you may hate those - it depends what you are going out for really.
