This summer,i'm planning to go Mexico for learning Spanish in a course.I thought about going Spain to learn Spanish but i've learned that Latin America Spanish is better i mean real Spanish. Is it right? Also i wanna see a totally different culture. On the other hand,i'm worried about security.

What do you think about that folks?

  1. I was always told it was really dangerous, but where we went, the riviera maya/Cancun it was lovely and the people where great.

Every country has it's bad side, so I guess it just depends on what part you go to.

  2. MEXICO FREAKING ROCKS STAY IN THE IBEROSTAR QUETZAL IN PLAYA DEL CARMEN!

  3. OMG! it is beautiful! if u go in da summer, its really hot and you cant really do anything except lay on the beach..and play there too HAHA!

you can go on boats and sometimes they will have a see-through bottom/platform in which u stand on and u can see underneath where the beautiful fish are in the clear blue water in the ocean. its also really fun to shop for stuff like rreally pretty beach cover ups and shrinkets.

    HAVE FUN! i hope i pursuaded u!!

p.s. it aint dangerous! those ppl are trying to scare u!

there is also a bar in the actual pool at the hotel i stayed at!

    it was awsome!!!

  4. i have ther are many places u could visit such as acapulco which is cool cause its close to th e beach and also cancun which is agreat place to visit but there are also some bad things about it there are many burglers but they wont harm good luck!

  5. I WILL SPARE YOU HOW SICK I GOT IN MEXICO FROM THE WATER. A COUNTRY SO BACKWARD AND CORRUPT YOU HAVE TO WORRY ABOUT EVEN THE ICE CUBES IN YOUR DRINKS MAY BE TOXIC. OR IF YOU SHOWER OR BRUSH YOU TEETH WITH THE WATER IT CAN DO YOU IN. NO I WILL NOT GO INTO ANY OF THOSE DETAILS. MEXICO IS A VERY DANGEROUS PLACE. KIDNAPPINGS AND MURDERS ARE TODAY THE RULE AND NOT THE EXCEPTION. AND I MEAN AMERICANS NOT JUST OTHER NATIONALITIES. LEARN SPANISH SOMEWHERE ELSE.   FOR SURE    GOOD LUCK   BOB

  6. well its really a cool place to live but it lacks with security theres lot of violance it is better that you dont wear jewelery

  7. Go for it!  Mexico is a beautiful country! What do you mean by real Spanish?

    Disfrute su viaje

  8. I am from Mexico if you are looking for anything more authentic and rural I would suggest your go with a friend or a guide that is familiar with the areas. If your plans are to go to a touristy place then you will not need to know that much Spanish. Spain Spanish is a lot different then what we speak. Just be careful and DO NOT travel at night!!!

  9. I would first take a basic spanish class locally. Probably at a college. Get your feet wet first before you jump in.

  10. stay away from the hobos, the ****** will steal ur dough bro, the tamelas are the best **** there is

  11. It depends on what part you go to.  If you go in the middle, then it is really pretty but if you don't, it could be kinda nasty and smelly. I know someone who went to Mexico and got their truck stolen the first day they went so watch out but I would watch out no matter where you go.  Be safe and have a good trip.

  12. I've been to Cancun, which was beautiful. I would keep your purse close by though.

  13. Well be carefull because there are a lot of Mexicans!!!!!!

  14. The spanish in Spain is more correct. Its almost the same, but some words is different and they pronounce the words different. I think the spanish in Latin-America is easier to learn because of the "r" ;) i havn´t been to Mexico so can´t say anything about the security, but Spain is a good place to learn spanish. I stayed in a city called Salamanca, and was very happy with that.

  15. i lived near mexico and though it is an interesting culture, it is more dangerous than spain.  Spain would probably be more ideal as you could easily travel to other parts of Europe on weekends and stuff and see more types of culture.  also, spain has beautiful castles and museums, but mexico has beautiful beaches.  its really up to u but i would go to spain.

  16. i think u need a passport and i would want to go to spain more beause mexico is dusty dry most times and not clean

    and if you do go....tips:

    bring jugs of water

    bring money to exchange

and well i would say food but you get that taken up at the border

  17. There are many great places to study Spanish in Mexico that are safe.  See website for an excellent school in Xalapa, Veracruz . I live near  it and have know several young female American students who attended this school and loved it,  You got a lot of answers from people who are just plain IGNORANT and know nothing about Mexico and it's culture, safety , or language schools!    You will find Xalapa to be a beautiful, cultured, safe city and the school is part of the great University of Veracruz and is excellent.  I am a single American woman living near Xalapa, and have no problems at all living safely here.  And, Mexico is not just a dusty, dirty country as one person who has obviously never been beyond the border area said!.  I do get a little defensive about the "real "Mexico!

  18. If you are in the Unites States, Mexico is better to learn the type of Spanish that is mostly spoken in the US. Spanish from Spain is not the same dialect as Mexican Spanish.

I've personally been to Mexico, and I loved it. The scenery is beautiful and I had a great time.

  19. I've been to Mexico many times.  I have found that tourist areas are safe.  I don't think it really matters which country you go to -- Spain or Mexico -- but you will enjoy Mexico.  The culture, the song of the language around you, and all the good food.  It's great.

  20. i've been to cancun, guadalajara and right now i am living in manzanillo. i think studying here to learn spanish is a great idea... you will learn another language and have a great time.  you will for sure see a totally different culure. i am from boston...it is so different here. be prepared for a little culture shock if you are going to be in mexico for a while. but its not a bad culture shock it will just be different to what i am pretty sure you are used to.  as long as you are safe and keep a good head on your shoulders the security should not be an issue. yes...there are creepy people but i think the same goes for the u.s. just dont do anything that you are not sure is a 100% safe.  good luck!

  21. i have been to mexico it is real beautiful has some real nice sites to see but also if your going to learn spanish i thisk thats a great place to go and learn it i think youll have a great time!

  23. I have been to Mexico and so have several women I know.  None of us have had bad experiences.  All have had great experiences, in fact.  Although, I did get extreme food poisoning, I think from some soft-serve ice cream I bought on the street.

If you want to learn Spanish as you would hear in the U.S, I agree you should go to Mexico.  The Spanish there is much different than the Spanish spoken in Spain.  It is not more "real," any more than US English is more "real" than British English.

Don't worry, and have a great time!

  24. Okay I'll tell you the first thing is to be very careful there because there are lots of no good people there, thats also where many of the drugs come from. do not trust too many people there.

  25. youre white, young, female, and naive.. have fun.. go to the touristy places...

  26. when i was young i used to live there i speak spanish and in Mexico its kinda hot but its fun and it also depends on where you go .  Buena Suerte! ( Good Luck )
