  1. Perth is 400 klms from Sydney and a five hour flight.Sydney offers the traveller many tourist attractions. You can walk the top of the Harbour Bridge,Chinatown is quite safe but very commercialised, Darling Harbour has lots of Boutique shops and Markets are held every weekend in the Rocks area ( all accessable via Public Transport)You can take a train ride to the Blue Mountains,Katoomba approx 1 1/2 hours by train from Sydney. Catch the ferry across the Harbout to Manly which has a great promenade with lots of yummy things to eat.Its a little hard to list all the attractions as you could spend a couple of hours listing them.Summer temp here ranges between 25 C to 35 C so is good beach weather and the beaches run both North and South of Sydney Harbour.Cairns is also about a 3 hour flight from Sydney , Bancok is in Thailand and is usually just a stopover as I found it very dirty and crowded. Have a great holiday when you come and welcome to Aussie.

  2. Best places to stay are the YHA's

Perth - stay in th Y in Freemantle the e-shed markets are brilliant, loads of nightlife, loads to go out and see, cheap bus to visit Perth City as well

Sorry when I was in Aus Cairns was cycloned out so can't help.

Y in Sydney is smack in city centre. Chinese section great fun, Pattys markets very nice. If you have time visit Jenolan Caves (day trip by coach) and Toowoomba for the 3 Sisters - both outstanding scenery.

  3. Patty's Markets are excellent and china town is very interesting also the chinese gardens is a must to see in darling Harbour. Darling Harbour i would make a day for it as it is very big. The ferry to manly is quite good and the fish and chip shop opposite to Manly beach is yummyyyyyyyy. Hope you have fun.

  4. I went to Australia last summer (winter there.) and I stayed in Sydney, but I was with a school group of about 50 + people though. My group LOVED Paddy's Market, an indoor flea market. They had the best prices by far for any kind of souvenirs. My first day in Aussie though me and my mom took the ferry to Manly, a nice town which is about 45 minutes by boat I think. Theres a restaurant that's located behind the docks. It's a little outdoor place, and is really good. I recommend the calamari. My group also loved the Blue Mountains and the walk through the forrest. The little train down the mountain is really cool but hard to get into if you're bigger or hard of walking.

Have fun in Australia ! :D
