  1. Fatigue and sleep deprivation are far more likely to harm you than some nut job.  But plan your hotels in advance (so you don’t go looking for one in the dark) and keep your mace handy.

Chicago huh?  So I take it you have an Illinois tag on your car?  That’s good because nothing screams “victim” in So Cal louder than a single chick driving on an LA freeway with a horrified expression and white knuckles,  with say a Kansas or Oklahoma plate!   Boy those are funny !!

Angelinos go out of their way to cut such drivers off, just for fun!

I take it you’ve driven in LA before?   If not consider entering town early on a Saturday or Sunday morning.

    Good luck !

PS our gas is darn near $4.00 now

  2. keep to yourself and do not travel at night and keep a cell phone with you.only stop to get gas  where there are plenty of people. be safe,  and have a good trip.

  3. people do it everyday.... best to plan your trip..... stop and rest offen and just be careful.... takes like three good days four would be better could do it in less but staying awake is the hard part..... so heres where the planing comes in....your normal hours that you are awake is the best times to drive safe some where a rouind 16 hours or less so plan where to stay like half way thru which will be a round the texas pan handle or new mexico you will be driving 40... have plan the trip from tennessee to vehgas a few times two nites on the road and from here its another four hours so plan of three nites...here some good info

  4. probably, be prepared and stay safe.
