Hey I bought a Canon DC22 video camera, but I already installed the disks but I can't download the videos.?

The computer doesn't even find the camera even if it's connected.

  1. The Canon DC22 is a DVD based camcorder.

    The easiest way to get vids off the DVD is if you have a drawer loading DVD drive in your computer. Finalize the disc (if needed - read the camcorder manual).

    Download and install HandBrake

    Take the finalized disc out of the camcorder and put it in the drawer loading DVD drive in your computer. Launch HandBrake and rip the video to something your videio editor likes.

    If your computer had a slot loading DVD drive or it can only deal with CDs, consider getting a drawer loader - even an external one.

    The alternative is to transfer analog video using the same AV cables you would use to connect the camcorder directly to a TV - but instead of connecting to the TV, you connect to an "analog/digital bridge" like
