It's between the Remington SPR453, Remington1187, or do you guys have any suggestions but I don't want to spend to much money.

  1. I would need to know what you will be using the gun for most of the time to give a good answer.  1187 's are a decent gun, however I prefer the Remington 1100 which I feel are more reliable. Used 1100's are available for around $300 to $400 in good condition. Extra interchangeable barrels are also readily available if desired.

  2. without knowing what or where you are planning on hunting, your question, would be difficult to answer.

for myself, i have several shotguns. different gun, for different situations

  3. 1187 is much better quality. The SPR453 is made by a Russian company I believe and just has Remington stamped on it and is not the same. But, if you have enough for an 1187, then you should look at the Winchester SX3. IMO it is much better quality and pretty much never jams.

  4. I'd Like to know what you are planning to hunt but I only use a shotgun for Turkey, Geese and Duck. Save yourself some money and buy a Mossberg 835. They run about $325. If you don't mind a pump action, that is the way to go! Semi-Auto shotguns are for poor shooters.

  5. Personally, I like the 11-87 in camo with the sure-shot stock.  If you can find a gun shop that has both, try em out and see which one feels best to you.
