Hey US Citizens Please Tell Me High School Comprises Of How Many Classes Or Grades?

I Am From India And Here Schools Are Not Divided Like Yours Primary School To Tertiary Schools.

Here It A Child School Years Are Completed Till He Clears His Class 12 Exams A Child Have To Go To School From Class 1 To Class 12.

Then After 12 He Goes To College.

What About Your Country.

In the US grades levels are divided up as such:

Pre-Kg ----- Grade 5/6    Elementary School

Grade 6/7 ------ 8/9        Middle School/Junior High School

Grade 9/10 ------ 12       High School/Senior High School

After 12th grade, students have the option of going to college.

In the US high school is 4 years; grades 9-12.

They are also called Freshman, Sophomore, Junior, and Senior year, just like college.

In the US children go to Kindergarten,(a five year old), then grades 1-12 like in your country.

Where I live you start elementary school in kindergarten and that goes through 6th grade, then junior high school is from 7th grade to 9th grade and senior high school is 10th grade to 12th. Each grade represents one school year (usually Fall-Spring)
