im going to make one and i am thinking of constructing it in parts. 6 parts-head,poncho,arms and legs.this way i can take parts off and not get overheated.what do you think of this?i also want to ask you how do you attach your burlap to the netting?

ive seen alot of videos on youtube etc. about jute...what is jute?

it appears to be thin strips of burlap,i think this would make a good addition to my suit but need to know what it is.

thanks to all answers.

  1. We made a couple in Vietnam using old flight suite and burlap. Head gear consisted of a Boonie hat with burlap.

You should be able to pick the stuff up at your Army Navy store. You can get the burlap at most feed stores. Here is a website with instructions on the subject.

This guy has made one exactly how your talking about for paintball.

For the footwear, you could use some good hunting boots or tactical boots.

For the headwear you could use a ski mask or hat whichever you prefer.

jute is a very fine twine. it blends a lot better than burlap but i dont think you can get it in stores. He explains it better in the video above.

  3. I have not built one yet but I have bought one. A six piece suit seems a little complex but if it does work please send me the plans since I will be building one of my own soon. To answer your ? about the hat the one I bought was sowed into a bonnie hat I will send you pictures of the suit if you want.

This is what wiki had to say about jute

"Jute is a long, soft, shiny vegetable fiber that can be spun into coarse, strong threads. It is produced from plants in the genus Corchorus, family Tiliaceae".
