  1. try the reset button underneath . you will need something like a needle to press it

  2. were did you buy it from?

if it was Argos they may swap it for you if the tag/sticker is still on the box and it is still in the current catalogue.

  3. When you press the reset button, make sure you unplug the unit, reset it, then plug it back in and try to turn it on.  Also make sure the green light comes on when i's plugged in.

If that doesn't work call tech support.  In the US and Canada, it's 1-866-4-tomtom.  Otherwise, get the number from this list:

    http://www.tomtom.com/support/support.ph...

  4. like most things - they are great when they work!

have you tried the reset button?

To reset your TomTom device, do the following:

       1. Check that the battery is charged properly.

Charge your device for at least 2 hours before trying to turn it on again. Make sure the charging light on your device is on.

       2. Remove the SD card

If your device uses an SD card, remove it.

       3. Reset your device.

Use a straightened paper clip, or something similar, to push the reset button for 15 seconds. See the pictures below for where to find the reset button.

       4. Turn your device on.

Press the On/off button for at least 5 seconds.

       5. Insert the SD card

If your device uses an SD card, insert the SD card.

also, you could try and contact tomtom support, they have been pretty good when i have contacted them.
