I don't think you find the names of every race horse who's ever been registered.  

Example, the Jockey Club has over 100,000 foals registered every year.  And names can be recycled after a horse hasn't raced or produced registered offspring in 8 years (provided that the horse didn't win one of the "classic" races).

There would be an innumerable amount of registered race horses, especially if you include all racing breeds in all countries.
