They have been doing this research for years and just recently they found a cost effect way to do it.10% the size of New Mexico could supply all our fuels needs. Also did you notice they rolled at the hybrid car in Washington State that gets 150 mpg right after the big jump in oil prices.Look up a company called A123 Systems. They can convert a Prius today to get 150 mpg.

  1. Without modifying a Toyota Prius, with some careful driving and some basic maintenance, you can get over 100mpg.  Look into the hypermilers.

But, if you wish to convert your Toyota Prius to be plug-in capable (become a PHEV), you can get over 100mpg (some say 150mpg).  For a listing of ways to get a PHEV (convert your Prius, or Ford Escape Hybrid/Mercury Mariner Hybrid), see:  http://www.calcars.org/howtoget.html

Yes, batterymaker A123Systems http://www.a123systems.com/ recently purchased PHEV converter Hymotion http://www.hymotion.com/ in Canada (US distributor Green Gears Inc. http://www.greengears.net/ ), so no it is not a fraud like many of the water-4-gas postings...

  2. There are so many ways to produce clean, green efficient energy that won't run out, if your really hardcore search, you'll find a guy on google who can power his car on pure water, which could potentially re-build the atmosphere and slow down global warming, but the big oil companies are making millions from oil, they won't let anything happen until the oil's run out, or at least critically low. They can pay off the people who find the technology, and there have been rumors they have even paid people to kill of those who have made such discoveries... but who knows...

  3. And I'll bet that "A123 Systems" might just be persuaded to sell you some stock shares.

    Financial fraud alert...

  4. The last I heard was there were test plants up and running and producing algae oil, the cost is still above the price of diesel fuel right now, but it’s expected to come down. There a still a few problems to work out, gelling mainly, bio-diesel tend to gel up more quickly than diesel. Hopefully in the next five years we’ll see full size plants producing algae oil at a cheaper price then diesel.

    To Greshnab

They make bio-diesel out of algae oil, the leftover mass may be converted into ethanol. All they do is extract the oil from the algae and go through the standard process of making bio-diesel out of the oil. That would mean the price of diesel would go down. It's not a replacement for gasoline but diesel and the studies assumed that ALL cars and trucks on the road were diesel.

Ethanol will never be a replacement for gasoline, it has too many problems.

  5. not entirely true.. what are you going to feed all that algae?!?! how are you going to harvest it and what method are you going to use to convert it to ethanol..

once You DO convert it to ethanol... how are you going to mix and distribute it so that everyone can get it?!

are you aware most cars can't run on pure ethanol.. right now 85 oil based 15 ethanol is about as good as they can handle.. so when you switch to pure ethanol who is going to pay for the replacements for all of the cars out there to a newer one that CAN run on ethanol...

what is your plan for switching from oil to pure ethanol.. all of the old storage tanks will have to be dug out.. the ground will have to be checked for contamination.. the site will have to be re certified for underground storage of hazardous materials.. then a new tank would have to be installed and hydro tested...

that is just the BARE beginnings of the problems with changing to ethanol .. and some of the issues we are starting to deal with... there are a LOT more that i haven't even begun to consider...

don't' get me wrong we are going to have to switch off oil... but it is NOT going to be quick and easy.

  6. thanks for the information but where is the question?
