Hey does anyone know which lasts longer plasma tvs or lcd tvs?

Thinking about getting one but not sure which is better aor lasts longer iv heard a lot of stories just wondering if anyone had any FACTS as to which is better?

  1. Life-time: This is a non-issue with either technology. In fact, both plasma and LCD TV sets come with a quoted half-lifetime of around 60,000hrs. Even if this were just 30,000hrs, it would imply more than 14 years of use at 6 hours a day. And this when the average household in the US replaces the TV set every 7 years!


  2. Plasmas are really problematic

    I know so many people who have had to send theirs back...

    LCD's are way more trustworthy

  3. the above mentioned is not entirely true. That was the case long time ago, now plasmas are little more reliable. It is however true that LCDs last a year or so longe IN AVERAGE. it all depends on how much you use your TV. if you use it alot and it is on all the time, then it is wiser to get an LCD since it uses less energy and lasts a little longer. If you watch 4-5 hours of tv and the tv is one 4-5 hours a day then go with a plasma since yuo will save at least 800-1000 dollars.
