  1. Normal art brushes work just as well as any Brand name make up brushes... plus they're usually a lot cheaper. Just go to your local art store and pick some up. :D

  2. art brushes do work as well as makeup brushes. just know what youve gotta buy! a blending brush, flat small brush and a larger flat brush will probably do the trick and last you a long time. if you can afford it, a crease brush is always nice to have and easy to work with esp if youre just starting out.

  3. Avon has this amazing thing, its called In A Wink Instant Eyeshadow Sheets

    An Avon first!

Now anyone can have a professional makeup application...instantly! It's the easiest eyeshadow ever! Quick, easy application that’s makeup-artist perfect...and a great traveler. Includes 14 powder eyeshadow sheets. One application per sheet.

    It's easy!

Peel & Position - Separate eyeshadow sheet from protective plastic cover and place over closed eye.

Press - Gently press & rub entire sheet to transfer eyeshadow

Blend - Blend with fingertips for professional results!

  4. MAC brushes are definitely worth the investment.  I personally love the 224 for blending, 252 for applying shadow to the lid or if you have Asian eyes like me I sometimes use the 242 which is a smaller version of the 252.  With makeup tips I would just practice as often as possible, blending is the most important thing.  You can practice your blending by applying eyeshadow to your crease with a blending brush like the MAC 224 but sweep in on in a windshield motion from right to left, left to right.  Good luck!

  5. Art brushes from the craft store are great!---another alternative is this site

they buy the brushes wholesale so they can sell them for cheaper prices...here are some reviews of them as well...

  6. MAC ones are good. But they're WAY over priced

Check out your local Michael's (yes.. the craft store)

get some Loew Cornell paint brushes.

(same material: goat hair and wooden handles at almost 1/4th the price of MAC brushes)

Crown brushes also work really well as makeup brushes

For the Loew Cornell brushes the 3/8'' Maxine Mop is an awesome basic eyeshadow brush. And I believe I bought it for between $4-$5

  7. The In A Wink shadow sheets someone mentioned are really cool - and pretty inexpensive, too. You can get them with free shipping using the code "FSANY" at youravon.com/mmansfield.

For brushes, I HIGHLY recommend brushes from mark., they're VERY high quality - easily compared to more expensive brands, and the most expensive brush in the line is $8. You can get them at the same website I mentioned above, with the same free shipping code, or from mymarkstore.com/imansfield, with the free ship code "LAURENSLOOK"
