Hey guys, if the music in my car is very disturbed...wat could be the reason? (cd) ?

could it be the wiring? or wat elese could it be? cos the sound is totatlly different from what it should be... but if u plug my i-pod in i think the sound is alright... wat could it be?

  1. If it sounds good with your iPod, but distorted with your CD player, that almost has to be an internal problem in the head unit.  

    Some players will store different audio settings for different sources; ie, you can store EQ and fader/balance settings individually for the CD player vs. the tuner vs. the auxiliary source.  You can check and see if your settings are much different for the CD player, but even if they are, that's unlikely to cause distortion.

    It's possible that your CD player is voltage-starved.  If there's a problem with the main power wire or the ground, then it will be more apparent with the CD player selected, because it requires more power to run the CD player.    From what you're describing, though, I doubt that's the issue. I think you probably have a defective CD player.


  2. Have you done any work, like adding speakers or amps? You might have polarities switch on some speakers to make it sound bad. If it works with your Ipod connected I would check the back of the CD player for shorts. That is if you have your Ipod connected with RCA jacks.
