  1. Not a bad choice, but most would agree that, unless you sit with your nose almost against the screen, you will not be able to tell the difference between the 1080p and a less expensive 720p/1080i set in a screen size under about 46". Your are aware, I assume, that the only way you can get a 1080p input signal is through a BRD movie or some games.

For 37" and 32" LCD: the 2 top brands, for both performance and reliability, are Panasonic Viera and Sony Bravia. A little bit less expensive, but still good quality, is the Toshiba Regza followed, perhaps, by Sharp Aquos and Samsung.

You might read over the HDTV articles in the 11/07 and 3/08 Consumer Reports. You can get these at you local public library. Pay attention to the reliability section.

  2. When going through stores that sell TV's, the ones I notice with the best color and sharpness, are #1-Sony and #2, the Sharp brand, and they seem to have the best life span, and fewer problems.

I am prejudice as I own two Sony's and one Sharp at the present time, and love them both.
