  1. by passing LARGE amounts of electrical current through the water.. the process of electrolysis will turn the water to hydrogen and oxygen...

    HOWEVER...

1>keep in mind pure water will NOT conduct electricity.. only water with impurities in it.. normally an acid diluted in the water...

2> hydrogen is explosive.. very small amounts in the air free exposed to an open flame results in a very large BOOM...

3> given enough pure oxygen ANYTHING will burn at very low temperatures

so in short when you make hydrogen from water you are dealing with caustic acids and releasing two gasses that will either explode or make the air itself catch fire when exposed to any kind of an open flame or spark...

people that deal with them call oxygen generators bombs for a reason!

  2. Water is changed to hydrogen through electrolysis.  Look up electrolysis to learn more.

  3. Water can be turned into Hydrogen because electricity change water so that it seperates into oxygen and hydrogen

  5. Greshnab is right.

    lots of electricity.

almost always, this is asked in relation to powering a car.

    and that answer is no.

    it takes too much electricity.

and, despite what hundreds of sites claim, there is no "magic" way to separate the hydrogen from the oxygen.

but not to fear, many of the sites will be most happy, for a small donation, to send you a description of how you can do it, and also offer, for additional money, some plans,......

  6. Heaps of info on this and other suppressed technologies at byronwine.com

DIY plans and info available at water4gas.com

    Happy experimenting, but be careful!

  7. On Neptune, there is hydrogen in crystal form.

Hydrogen boils at about 20 degrees Kelvin.

So cool air down to below 20 degrees kelvin. Then raise the temperature slightly and boil off the hydrogen. All of the other components will be in crystal form.

Cryogenics takes lots of electricty, probably more than simple electrolysis.

There is not a lot of hydrogen in the atmosphere so this method is not efficient. Don't know if cryogenics would work for water but intuition says it will.
