i took the U-bahn and the train was kinda empty i tried getting a ticket from the machine but i didn`t know which tab to press on and those who were on the train couldn`t help me suddenly the ticket inspector came and asked for the tickets i told him i didn`t know how to use the machine but he insisted that i should pay 40 euros as a fine and he took my name and my passport details then we got off the train and he said that he would call the police but after i paid he said it`s no problem and he said i shouldn`t worry at all and that he won`t notify the police after that i apologized and then he went away.My question is : Will i be able to go to Germany again? Am i going to be flagged or something as if i commited a crime? Is this considered a crime according to the german law? please help me guys coz i`m really worried thanks a lot

  1. Sorry you dealt with this situation. You shouldn't be worried, though. It's not about the German law, it's a 'Transportation law" and it's great btw. All you have to do is ASK how to use the ticket. I really hope you know the language. When i was in Europe early this year, i got warned about this situation and shown how to use the ticket.

This ticket system goes with u-bahn, bus, and mostly all transportation. How it works: when you buy your ticket and get in a transportation (Bahn, U-Bahn or Bus) you'll find a box (which get your ticket stamped and recorded) you put the ticket in it, it'll get stamped right away and take it back.

Usually the inspector isn't around all the time, but it gets really ugly when he comes and finds your ticket isn't stamped.

Don't worry, nothing against you, it's just a bad situation and went away. I'm expected to go to Germany next year isA and i'm soooooo looking forward to it. Europe just ruuuules

  2. you pid the fine , so you are OK .

dont worry , he was firm so that no one would get on the train without a ticket .

this is the German strictness on the spot .

you havent committed a crime , you paid the fine , khalas .

  3. Germans are decent people. They abide by the law, but what you did is not a crime, and you got your punishment already by paying the fine. Don't worry.
