Hey guys...what does a "FOUL" and a "PENALTY" means,when things come to football issue,plz?

this is more concerns with SPORT,i mean when they exactly use?i apretiate givin me a satisfactory answer!

if ur talking about soccer football

then a foul is when u are tackling and u trip a player or when u are trash talking to a referee usually u get a red or yellow card

a penalty is when u get tripped or tackled unfairly in the goalies box

and there is a spot in the box where u take the free kick from.

a foul in most sports is a breach of the rules.

a penalty is the action that comes from that, consequence i guess. it could be free kick, penalty kick

a foul is when a player disobeys rules and the penalty is the punishment for that (usually the other team gets a shot at goal/try etc)
