  1. bring your arms farther back behind your hips when doing freestyle when bringing your arms up doing the stroke

  2. hmmm... well i would say don't over think it. I used to be really bad about thinking to hard about what little things I should be doing in swimming that I would forget half the regular stuff. Try to not think about and just "go with the flow". Most of the time your body will figure it out but just in case...

On freestyle and backstroke try counting 6 kicks between each pull... Keep moving your arms of course but pull on the 6th kick.

Breaststroke and Butterfly are a little harder. When I swim butterfly I kick 2 times for every stroke; once when my hands are entering the water and once when my hands are passing my hips.  On breaststroke the best thing to do is "kick your hands forward". When your hands are directly in front of your face your feet should be up near your rear. The timing is a little tricky but after a couple tries you should get it.

I hope this helps... Good luck!

  3. focus solely on the part thats wrong...for a long time, my kicking was very wrong...so i started focusing on that, and once i started kicking right, everything just fell in to place and i dropped a lot of time...whatevers right should be second nature and should still be right, even if your not concentrating on it...so just focus on making what you do wrong right, and dont worry about anything else until it becomes second nature

  4. best suggestion i would have is to find someone who teaches swim lessons or go to your pool and ask for privates and that you want stroke improvement. just do it a few times so you know exactly what's wrong and then you can focus on fixing it.
