You have not stated which Rupee you are interested in: Indian, Pakistani or the Indonesian Rupiah. There are also different quotes available for currencies, such as buying/selling rates, and within these, for different types such as DD, TT, travelers check, cash, etc.

The rates for the different types/transactions differ. You could get them from various financial papers.

I just made an Internet search in one of the papers that give the Indian Rupee rate as of 4th Feb. It is Rs 39.36 per US dollar, which works out to one Indian Rupee = 2.54065 cents (US).

For approximate calculation purposes, this should be adequate, if you are looking for Indian Rupee quotations.
